Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026. “Master” (askmaster.help and the iOS / Android apps) is operated by Nanjing Isaiah Bai Technology Co., Ltd (“we”).

What we collect

• Account data: when you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an account identifier, your email and name (Apple may give a private relay address). We never receive your password.
• What you write: the difficulty you describe to Shifu and the Grand master, the conversation, and the answer (book, chapter, starting quote).
• Orders: purchases, unlocks, refunds and tips with amounts. Card details are handled by the payment provider; we do not see them.
• Technical data: to prevent abuse the server uses your IP address for rate limiting (kept in memory only, not stored in the database).

We do not collect location, contacts, photos or health data, do not use advertising identifiers and do not track you across apps.

How we use it

Only to provide the service: Shifu's questions, finding a fitting chapter on the shelf, payments and refunds, and showing your history on all your devices.

What is sent to third parties

To generate answers, the text you enter is sent to third-party AI services: DeepSeek (conversation and judgement) and Jina AI (text embeddings for retrieval). They process it under their own terms and may run servers inside or outside your country. In the app we ask for your consent before your first question; if you do not agree, please do not use the question feature.

Also: sign-in is provided by Apple and Google; payments are processed by Stripe on the web, by Apple on iOS and by Google Play on Android; servers are hosted at HostDare. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Your history is kept until you delete your account. You can do so at any time in the app (home screen account menu → Delete account) or on the website (footer “Delete account”): we delete your account, conversations and answers. Order records for completed payments are kept without personal data for accounting and legal reasons. Anonymous questions (not signed in) are not linked to any account; contact us to have them removed.

Children and minors

The service is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not for children under 13, who should not use it. We recommend that minors use it with a parent or guardian's guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and delete it if we find any. A parent or guardian can contact us below to review or delete a child's data.

The Grand master's answers are book-chapter recommendations, not medical, legal or financial advice. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, contact local emergency or crisis services immediately.
